Pastor Booker T. Terry was born in the Piedmont area of North Carolina and educated in the Vance County Public School System. After completing high school, he worked in the textile industry for five years.After working in this field, he moved to the Washington, D.C. area where he earned an Associate Degree in HVAC Engineering from the Lincoln Technical Institute in Maryland. He also earned a Computer Degree from the American Business School in Maryland and a Management Certification from the National Institute Housing Management in Washington, D.C.
  Pastor Terry also completed studies in the Master School of Divinity in the state of New Jersey. He received a certification in Pastoral Studies from the Urban Alternative Church Development Institute in Dallas, Texas. He was awarded his Ordination and Pastoral degree from New Destiny Fellowship Leadership Training School in Delaware.
  Pastor Terry has been in the ministry for 23 years, of which 14 years, he served as a minister. In the winter of 2000 Pastor Terry was inspired by the Lord to start a church in the Germantown area of Montgomery County. Soon thereafter, he obtained the use of an auditorium at S. Christa McAuliffe Elementary School and began to have bible studies and Sunday services. In March 2001, the church held its first worship service. In 2003, the church purchased its first van.  In May 2006, the church rented a 4500 square foot space for use as its new sanctuary.
  In 2007, the church began to experience a supernatural growth. The church is now in the process of purchasing its first property to house Post Pre-Release Correctional Recipients in the Montgomery County, Md. area. The church is also in the process of purchasing land for its new church facility. He is the founder of Two Fish and Five Loaves Food distribution center that is located in Gaithersburg Md.
  In the business arena, Pastor Terry owns three prosperous companies. He is co-owner of Good Start Driving School, owner of Graceful Touch Barber & Beauty Salon and owner of HVAC Surgeons Inc all located in the Montgomery County area.
Pastor Terry is married to his lovely wife and co-pastor Betty Terry for 29 years. They have 3 sons Jonathan Terry and daughter in law Stephanie Terry and Trenton Eaton and daughter in law Rosa Eaton and Joseph Terry, Two grand-daughters Mykelia Terry and Trinity Eaton and four grand-sons all who resides in Montgomery county.
  Beyond all the natural accomplishments, Pastor Terry’s ministry is manifested by the Gifts of the Spirit and “Anointing.” Many have been healed, saved and delivered through the ministry that GOD has given Pastor Terry. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 2:4-5, “And my speech and my preaching {was} not with enticing words of man wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of Power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of GOD.” (KJV).   Co-Pastor Betty Terry was born in Clarksville, Va. She is the youngest of seven children. She received formal education in the Virginia Public School System and at Prince George’s Community College where she received her certification in early childhood education.Co-Pastor Terry was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Spirit at the age of seventeen at the House of Prayer under the leadership of Rev. Charles Davis of Clarksville, Va. She later relocated to Maryland and became a member of Second Chance Ministries where she served in the Outreach and Prison Ministries and met her husband of 25 years, Pastor Booker Terry.
  The Terrys relocated to Montgomery County, Md. and became members of the Good News Bible Church located in Gaithersburg, Md. under the pastoral care of Scott Taylor. Later, the godly couple served under the leadership of Pastors Dwayne and Kitt Brewington of Victory Christian Church International located in Gaithersburg, Md. It was during this term of service that Pastor Terry was called to open the doors of There Is Hope Christian Church, where Co-Pastor Betty Terry serves faithfully in various capacities. Co-Pastor Terry completed her Pastoral Studies in 2004 from the Urban Alternative under the leadership of Anthony T. Evans, Ph.D. and in 2007 from the New Destiny Fellowship.
